I've been a bit confused over the past couple of mornings: I'm tuning to the correct channel for "CBS This Morning", but it feels as though all I'm seeing is the "Gail & R. Kelly Show."
Three questions:
1) With all the actually important breaking stories around the world, is this "story" deserving of all this coverage, to the detriment of coverage of so many other things which have so much more impact on Americans' lives?
2) Is it no longer true that news stories should avoid focusing on the news people, themselves, opting rather to concentrate on the news item, itself? Is it now supposed to be all about the reporter?
3) When did "CBS This Morning" become the "on the air" arm of The National Enquirer ("inquiring lobotomies want to know")? Is your target demographic now restricted to room-temperature IQs?
Years ago, I had switched to "CBS This Morning", and away from "Good Morning America" (which was, and still is, the TV equivalent of listening to popcorn pop) because, at that time, it seemed that your program presented a measured, circumspect look at ACTUAL news stories. Now, however, does the fragrance of popcorn seem to be showing up a bit at "CBS This Morning?"
I guess the answer is that I'm not confused; perhaps, instead, it's you who are...
