SPOILER ALERT: Bulbbul is a beautiful story with an underlying message about double standard society. From childhood we used to listen many stories about witches but Bulbbul helps us to gain perspective about it. Thanks to Anvita Dutt Guptan for gifting us this type of movie. Tripti Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, Paoli Dam, Rahul Bose and Parambrata Chattopadhyay did 100% justice of their role.
Only one thing I want to say, In the end the movie finished in a hurry. Somehow there need to be little more focus on the characters of Satya and Dr. Sudip.
The cinematography is amazing. It beautifully portrays the 80's bengal cultures.
The director uses metaphors in some scenes beautifully, like significance of wearing toe ring( later during the operation of Bulbul's leg, it kept open), In a conversation Bulbbul was saying to satya why a man only can kill brutally, why not a woman and as replying at that moment of Binodini as "Badi Bahu". The last scene when Indranil returns and Bulbul shows up, that signifies justice for wrongdoing is not over. The using of the Bengali famous folk song " Kanlankini Radha", the meaning represents the story and many more symbolization.
The film uses Horror genre as a tool, this is not typical horror movie we mostly watch. Overall I liked this film, story, casting and using of a story of monster as a social message.
