My father won a Navy Cross within that battle. We were steeped in the actual history over the years, through his slow processing of what happened. This 'Midway', was an overlong; unhinged rendering of the true events. Not only did the script feature bombers only, but they slammed Pearl Harbor up against 'Midway' within minutes. Very poor historic recordings. True history and time are always important factors in such historic events!
