RAMBO, a mainstream 80’s phenomenon that sparked an entire genre, has now distilled into quality niche appeal. RAMBO V: LAST BLOOD offers a fresh setting for an older, more settled RAMBO who’s been able to keep a manageable lid on his demons while training horses at his ranch and being a father figure to his housekeeper’s daughter... That’s of course until one naive choice causes irrevocable consequences. Viewer beware... Due to the subject matter, this movie contains violence and brutality that is not for the faint hearted. Unfortunately, I suspect, in reality the situations depicted in this film are even more violent and brutal. If you’ve been following John Rambo’s life, then this a poignant and fitting close to his story. Not everything is resolved or explained but isn’t life like that? The longer you live, the more questions you have than answers? And sometimes there are no reasons ‘why.’ Anyway, all philosophical pondering aside, I really enjoyed this last RAMBO instalment. Stallone brings all that brilliant intensity back to the big screen again and should be respected for the longevity of the characters he’s brought to life over the years. #rambov #moviereview
