I loved this series! The acting was spectacular. The episodes were extremely engaging. I loved getting a glimpse into several of the jurors lives. It made me think about how much of our own life experience we carry with us in the decisions we make. It also made me ponder what it would be like to have one's life and sentencing in the hands of several strangers who may have a bias depending on their the state of their life situation.
I was not thrilled about the final episode. I am not convinced that Frie would kill her best friend and fatally wound her own daughter. I thought the episodes were pointing to Brechtje's father being responsible for her accidental death. In one of the episodes they showed the father pushing his daughter into the kitchen counter and her falling to the ground. I thought they might reveal that Frie helped Brechtje's father cover up the murder as they were close but I did not think Frie would be responsible herself. Also, I felt that Stefaan, his girlfriend or her mother could have inflicted the superficial wound on Frie's daughter. All of these characters were looking to make sure that Frie was put away so she would be gone from their lives for good.
Great show, I wish the ending was as effective and complete as all of the preceding episodes were. Oh and make sure you change the dialogue to the Flemish language. The series is much more engaging in it's original language.
