Crow and Kidman are respected actors and i was curious as to how this movie would be presented . At first the staff at the conversion center seem just strict but perhaps decent . As time goes on , their true colors rise to the surface and emotional and physical violence begins . The young man gives a solid performance . He looks torn and wants parent approval . The parents, however , seem wooden . I wanted more from them . I think the conversion center scenes hurt the movie . Scenes with the parents coming to grips with the boy’s personal choices might have been more effective.
