Extremely tedious, confused storyline with constant dour, humorous one-liners that become irritating and pointless. Many interactions are contrived to create unnecessary, often badly directed blood-letting that lend no direction to an understanding of the story. One general palace dinner hall free-for-all, in which dozens were killed on screen, ended with a halt to the conflict and a subsequent view of the hall with nary a body to be seen. The bard character ruins any scene in which he appears with his interminable, badly-rendered jokes, exaggerated facial expressions, and pathetic misogyny. There’s some good acting and effects, but they’re lost in the lackluster writing and gruelingly drawn-out tale. Give it a miss.
