Nice movie, but so NOT the book. Totally different ending, totally different perspectives, and totally different interpersonal relationships. The book isnt a happily ever after either, but the movie does no justice to the issues of the day, abortion, same sex relationships, unmarried couples cohabiting, and even the impact of all of this on children, friends, and family. This movie is a watered down, censored, overview of the book. Its almost like someone read a summary of the book, wished they'd thought of it, then stole an idea here and there and created their own story. This movie does a disservice entirely to the book from which it drew inspiration.
