So many people HATE The Last Jedi. Personally, I don't understand it. I loved The Last Jedi. Sure, it's not the best Star Wars movie. In my opinion, it's only better than Episodes I and II. But, worst doesn't always mean terrible. And The Last Jedi isn't even the worst.
I loved every bit of this movie, almost every bit. One example of something I don't like is this: In the movie, Leia (Carrie Fisher) survived an explosion, one she should have died in. Later, she was just floating in space, when all of a sudden, she made herself float back to the ship. It's just too unrealistic, even in a world where people can lift rocks with their mind and wield glowing laser swords.
Now, some people also didn't like how Snoke (Andy Serkis) died. And I see their reasoning. He died too early. He had very little screen time and no backstory. I, too, would have preferred him to have survived. But that doesn't mean I hated that part. I didn't mind it.
Some people also didn't like how Rian Johnson (director) treated the character Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). I loved it! I didn't though, like how Luke tried to kill Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) [Adam Driver]. Luke believed there was still good in Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker) [David Prowse, James Earl Jones, Sebastian Shaw, C. Andrew Nelson, Scott Lawrence, Jake Lloyd, Mat Lucas and Matt Lanter, Hayden Christensen, Spencer Wilding and Daniel Naprous] {Whoo, that was a long list!}, but the second he saw the smallest bit of evil in Ben, he tried to kill him. It just doesn't make any sense.
Some people also didn't like Luke's death. I disagree. I thought it was the perfect end to his story. I was at peace when he died.
Another problem: in the movie, Admiral Holdo (Laura Dern) rammed her ship into another with lightspeed. The other ship was cut in half. Why was this not used in any other movie, book, or video game? What is the point of a death star when they could destroy a planet by throwing an asteroid at a planet at lightspeed? It just doesn't make any sense.
I've made three points of things that are wrong about this movie. Three things can't make it be a bad movie. Every movie has its own problems. In my opinion, The Last Jedi is the best movie of 2017 (if Marvel didn't exist)!
