I first recall watching 12 Angry Men as a teenager many decades ago. It's always stayed with me so I purchased the DVD and watched it this afternoon. Despite virtually being set in the one room it's riveting, with great dialogue and contains wonderful character studies. A young man, just a boy is being tried for the murder of his father. Premise is straightforward, we see 12 jurors locked away in a small room, all strangers. At first all but one are convinced the kid is guilty, except juror 8. Over the course of an hour and a half we see transformation of the 10 men, the arguments for and against, the prejudices and opinions. Slowly juror 8 convinces all but 1 man that there is reasonable doubt. Only juror 3 holds out, but breaks down at the end of the day, himself seeming having problems in his own life.
Highly recommended
