Remains the best film I've ever seen. When me and my father saw it for the first time, all that was going around in my head when it finished was 'that has to be the coolest stuff I will ever see'. Seen many other sci-fis during a period of obsession with the genre afterwards, but something about 2001 always manages to get my imagination running and my spine tingling!
