This movie is not blasphemous for one simple reason: it does not claim to be true. As someone who is very Christian at heart, I take it as is a creative reimagining that takes a lot of liberties with the gospels. It is also, in a very real way, the most spiritually intriguingly portrayal I've seen of the human side of Jesus. I wont spoil what the film does which deviates the most from scripture because its also the most fascinating thing in the movie. But the controversy generated is not warranted in my opinion. If you're a Christian, try actually watching it with an open mind: Its. Just. A. Film.
