Mr. Mason is truly a craftsman with words, both in prose and poetry. The story is more a series of vignettes about idiosyncratic owners of a house somewhere in the western part of Massachusetts. After reading the stories I felt a bit empty wishing for more enlightening ideas. Mr. Mason is both a fine writer and psychiatrist which is reflected in his world view.
