Shawn Morrissey

The new series starts off very well. It's forgivable to miss Alex Holland, but the new Avatar of the Green is an intriguing character driven by an engaging backstory. Ram V is a solid writer with great ideas, but the story suffers a little from being written for the trade. The series could have used a little more reigning in from a good editor, to keep those good ideas from whirling off on their own.

It's fine, though the weakest part of the story comes when the line between Morrison and Child is easily discernible. The characters are charming and we're endeared to them, which makes one scene in the last issue, when one character's subplot is tied up with little care for her or the reader, so jarring and almost infuriating. Worth a read from a library.

A fantastic series. An excellent turn of science fiction with social commentary on identity.
