"Based on the book"... As loosely as possible I suppose... The movie isn't awful but if you're expecting the book come to life this isn't it. I also think the message the book and movie give off that is saying give in to peer pressure, let the world dictate your happiness, it's the absolute worst message.

I watched this as a teenager and thought it was okay/kinda good. I just rewatched it as an adult and here's my new take 1) Lola is a liar and a brat. 2) How is no one creeped out by the older rockstar making dreamy eyes at the teenager. At the end when he shows up to the party and he's talking to her about getting together to talk about his music then he asks her to dance... Did no one else get pedo vibes from this???? 👀
