I've watched this show since the first episode and it is a great show except for the mess that they make producing it. I try to keep two shows ahead in the PVR due to cliff hangers. If there is one thing that keeps encouraging me to cut the cord are cliff hangers, and when the show bounces around from one boat to the other leaving the viewer left out. All this does is create confusion for the viewer and deflate the suspense and drama. I do not recommend watching this show unless you have a PVR to skip the constant commercials, or a commercial free subscription.

It was heartbreaking to hear about the loss of Garry, may he rest in peace. This is a good show, but there is more disappointment as the background music is awful. Its music that belongs on a murder mystery movie, not for a nature show. The sound effects person should be fired. How about no more weird drums and sounds and just let the natural sounds in the background do it like the motor boats, and birds in the show itself. One more thing I can add is that the show jumps around too much now (like many others) which makes it frustrating to watch and the main reason I switched to a smaller TV subscription. That cliff hanger recently with Curly cutting down a tree is enough to make me think about cancelling my TV subscription. They have turned a good show into a mess for the viewer to watch.

Great content, I enjoy Vern and the Kelly's, everybody on this show make it an interesting program. However, the show is very poorly produced, too much time spent on breakdowns leaving the viewer waiting for the gold action to return. The worst part about this show that could make me cut the cord is gold weigh when Discovery leaves one of the miners out. In this case I was waiting more than once for the Kelly's weigh in only to have to wait until next week. Don't waste my time with cliff hangers, or I will delete the timer for this show.

This show is hard to watch when it skips all over the place leaving the viewer lost unless they use their PVR to skip forward to catch up where it was getting interesting. Like when they chopped off the part when Marty was teaching his daughter to fly and then skipped over to the other party fishing before returning back to Marty later in the show. This is very annoying along with the constant heavy drumming back ground music. If it were not so poorly produced this would be a great show.

I watched two episodes of this show before deleting the timer. It sounded promising, the content is very interesting and this could have been a great series. However, the producers and editors destroyed the show making it impossible to watch by chopping up the show into tiny segments making it impossible to follow. By cutting out when the content becomes interesting and shifting to different crews the viewer loses both the drama and story line. Even worse the show ended in a cliff hanger. This type of producing and editing together with the lousy back ground music is enough to make me want to cut the cord from TV subscriptions. A lot of money for lousy produced programming. It is getting worse all the time.

I've watched all the seasons, but this season they changed the background music and it clashes with the content on Goldrush. The music belongs to a murder mystery show, and is totally out of place and is both an annoyance and serves as a distraction from the show because it is incompatible. The big drums sound like a storm on the horizon and the rest of the sound effects are like fingernails scratching the black board. I miss the musical theme that went along well like shaking pay dirt. Discovery can do better than this.
