I'm left perplexed after watching 'Anora', the film that swept five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actress. While it's undoubtedly a well-crafted movie, I'm struggling to understand its Oscar-worthy status.
Did it offer a fresh perspective or shed light on an untold story? Did it chronicle an extraordinary life or explore the human condition in a profound way? Unfortunately, it didn't quite meet those expectations.
At its core, 'Anora' tells the story of a sex worker and her relationship with the son of a Russian oligarch. With its explicit content, I'm forced to wonder: did the film's graphic nature play a significant role in its Oscar success? The answer, much like the film itself, leaves me with more questions than clarity.
