Tlou2 evolves into a hard hitting and grounded narrative about loss. People are mad that it went in a different direction but I think it fits in perfectly with the grittiness and reality of a harsh and emotional post apocalyptic world. The ending also amplifies this. It was definitely unexpected but it works so well with the themes and the atmosphere of the game. I think people fail to see this which is a shame. Definitely deserved GoTY
