I'll be the first to admit I wasn't sure that I would like COBRA KAI. I wasn't sure if I wanted to know the other side of the Karate Kid. I loved all four films as a kid. Even went as far as to watch the (2010) remake film. But, I found that the remake wasn't something that I actually enjoyed that the story line differed to much.
It's not hard to say that I never put much thought in to what happened to Johnny after he and Daniel fought. The story was always more focused on Daniel then eventually Julie. Showcasing Miyagi-Do and what Mr.Miyagi went through in life.
I don't think if this story wasn't written 30 odd years later that any of the fans would approve of it now. Cobra Kai in a way is its own story given that it doesn't only center around Johnny and Daniel. Which I am glad for the bases of the rivalry is there but also allows for the up and comer actor and actresses to showcase new stories.
I have finally completed season 2 of COBRA KAI. Somethings I wish didn't happen did but am looking forward to Season 3. I know that we all have a long way to go with all stories. I am hoping that in the end we see the rivalries will some how come to an end.
That some how Daniel and Johnny will realize that they are both Yin and Yang, Light and Dark. That their styles could some how come together to give the Valley one hell of a karate school. But they both in my eyes still have some growing up to do. That instead of hindering progress of their students that the solution lies in them joining forces to stop Kreece in the end.
