Even though the game mechanics do feel good, Sadly I do have to agree with the large volume of low ratings, it’s absolutely not worth the money at all; for the second time half a game has been released, myself and mrs were gutted to learn no split screen for zombies on release again (but I suppose cold war was partially excused first time around owing to the pandemic)
Splitscreen zombies is the sole reason why I purchased the game. This time, there is no viable excuse to bring out bits of a game stuck together and ask for £60 - £70 if you get cross gen like I did, it just feels like “we got away with it last time, and it was seemingly acceptable, so let’s do more of the same”
Hopefully not another “new normal” for games….since when did it become acceptable to release part of a product at complete product rates?
Surprisingly, at least we have split screen on multiplayer so we can play together on one console, but no option for vertical split screen - being forced to play a mode we wouldn’t normally play, not being able to see it that well even on a large screen, and campers etc, we both concluded within a couple of short games that this game is boring and is quite obviously about quick cash extraction from the cod fan base.
Der anfang; for me, cod is all about zombies and I didn’t watch any YouTube videos before I purchased as I didn’t want to spoil the experience of getting stuck into a new game….I wish I did, as I could’ve saved £70.
Upon first play I expected something to happen when I completed the portal challenges, instead it’s just the same format/challenge/locations every time and actually, becomes very boring very quickly. I turned the game off within an hour of installing and playing for first time, and I’m confident I’m most certainly not alone on that one, speaks volumes - a normal zombies session would be 3 or 4 hours, sometimes more.
Much prefer traditional round based zombies survival (fast early rounds in foresaken was a good evolution of traditional round based maps to be fair) - der anfang is frankly underwhelming and shouldn’t have been released in current form as it has done more harm than good, I don’t think in the future as many will rush to get upcoming cod games on release anymore if this is the new standard, poor show indeed.
I’ve sessioned Cold War and was starting to tire of the maps hence the purchase, I’ll try campaign as many have mentioned it’s decent, but once done its more likely than not that I’ll uninstall Vanguard, and reinstall one of the old ones so we can play together whilst they cobble together a meaningful patch that hopefully makes us all feel like we haven’t been robbed.
