For people in love, this is great. For the realist, there are some difficulties. However, for those lucky enough to be able to suspend belief -- i.e., given the condition that Henry must live under -- it is a new take on time-travel and a wonderful new way to look a love under difficult conditions. I would put 4.5 in deference to the realist, but that was not an option.

I tried to read all the reviews, seeing how people took this remarkable film. There are so many reviews that my little MacBook can't find the bottom of the file! I agree with those that want an Academy Award for this picture. There is something in here that the world really needs to understand. I think it could be learning to live with an open heart. Some have given it miserable ratings because Craig did not defend his friend from the shark. I can imagine he was torn between his attachment for the creature and his professional training to be an observer. It could not have been easy. But remember that the strength of his attachment grew with time. And ethically speaking I am not sure he should have intervened. And apparently the octopus (Lola, one reviewer called her) bore him no resentment. What this film gives is a thorough emotional revitalization. It is amazing, also, that a man can learn to stand the really frigid waters and learn to hold his breath for up to 6 minutes (!,?). Let us not forget that one of those fantastic creatures in this film was a human.
