I personally liked it, however teenage-like. It represents the major part of the society in a modern, yet traditional-thinking, America. It shows much of American cliche-thinking of good and bad child and the must and must nots. It also represents parents who just provide freedom for their children but do not protect from their freedom and do not share with their emotions & feelings. America is not a utopia. That's all.

Unlike any other horror junks like what we already have in mind, this East Asian horror makes you feel uncomfortable in mind. It focuses on manipulating the sense of curiosity of the viewer as it is vague until half of the movie, and freaks the hell out of you until you make it to the end.
