The antagonist of the movie sort of defeats the objective of the movie. We have to understand that ours is a male chauvinist society which not only accomodates rapists but in a way trivialises criminality of rape. While the patriarchal rural society patronises the alpha male and vilifies the independant woman the urban consumerist society does no better by constantly commodifying the woman. Rapists are a product of this society which accepts this order. While the film talks about this aspect through sporadic dialogues it trivialises the societal role by making its antagonist a psychopath, essentially an outlier, thus absolving us of all responsibility.
