I can't believe I watched it all. Two stars for sucking me in against my better judgement. Not recommended.

I hadn't read anything about this so had no expectations - I thought it was an excellent study of patriarchal society, gender politics, societal manipulation and coercive control in relationships. Lots of food for thought, especially as someone who for a few years accepted and fulfilled that role of the perfect wife....until I realised it was a trap!!

A strong start to this series, but with each subsequent episode we became less and less interested in Joan, and after making it through 5 episodes have completely lost the urge to find out how it all ends for this narcissistic woman.

It started great, all the actors were good, some were excellent, but the very public violent outbursts are much too foolish to believe from a lead prosecutor, from this the plot descends into extremely soapy territory. The production values and the cast kind of carry it, but ultimately disappointing.

Although this sets out as quite an intriguing possibility it turns out to be a horrible Crete based 'Bergerac', if Bergerac was a badly written alcoholic mysoginyst PI who thinks he's in a 1950s film noir. The completely pointless investigation gets the only decent character killed and nobody even cares!

So good! I'm not particularly an Alan Carr fan, but this is absolutely classic. The young actor playing Alan Carr is fantastic and I love the annoying neighbours. The period has been captured pretty accurately - I am a year or two older than Carr and remember having the exact rugby shirt he was wearing in one episode.

Relentlessly dull. Tom Hiddleston sadly has no range and should stick to playing upper class people in period films. Honestly can't distinguish between Loki and Jonathan in the Night Manager.

So bad . Really don't bother, it's embarrassing.

I love this show. Its a bit of a one off and so will defy your expectations. Words that spring to mind.... Sweet, dry, poignant, funny, dark, quirky, twisty, clever, nostalgic, futuristic. It's got some action, and violence..it's for adults but I let my 12 year old watch it with me second time around. We just watched season 4, and it retains the full 5 stars! Feel sad that there won't be any more Hargreeves craziness, but it's nice to watch something with an final series that was obviously planned from the inception. A proper ending.
