Doctor Who is dead, they jumped the shark on the gender bender stuff. I don't mind radically divergent futures and contrasting ideological systems and morals in future societies, but they should be represented by strong thought out characters and story arcs, like Captain Jack in Torchwood. I can't remotely agree with Captain Jack's outlook on sex, but fully accept his background and the idea he is from a place that allows and accepts, and that it works. It works cause it was built up and explored in-depth, and he wasn't a blundering idiot asserting his beliefs on other people, he was just a time traveler, who got other eras gonna differ.
I can tolerate a world with Captain Jack, because that WAS his character. Becomes the Face of Boe. A morality story in time we get a sense of him over a long story arc. I can't accept Doctor Who because we got a even better sense of HIM via a story arc that stretched back fifth years. We encountered strong female Time Lord characters like Romana. Never was a need for gender bending. The doctor became a old Victorian Grandfather who traveled through time. No matter where he went, if you added to him (warrior contrast to his pacifism, which didn't deny his pacifism but only added to it through unique story telling) he was still that man. He grew old in it. The change in Doctor who didn't come within the story, but from politics external in real life. Doctor Who was the most iconic character in the UK, and the feminists decided since he was a male it was a glass ceiling to them from achieving that status. Everyone knows that's how it started. That's precisely why they made the master a woman. We knew they already wanted this political agenda which had nothing to do with doctor who, nothing ever hinted he could do this, or any Time Lord prior. They screwed with well established facts to appease a minority audience who insisted on being offended and insulted. I don't want a male Wonder Woman. I want Wonder Woman to always be female. I totally accept a idea of a transgendered super hero, or a handicapped one, or gay, or of any given race, but once they start that, keep them that. These are solid traits of the character. Write it good and with a compelling story and it will sell.
The doctor used to have alot of time Lord antagonists. They should of just written a strong female character to contrast the doctor with her own arc and presence instead of destroying the doctor to fit a early 21st century ideological agenda that didn't exist for the last 50 years of doctor who, and is unlikely to exist in it's current form over the next 50 years. Societies expand and contract via perennial forces in regards to sexuality, it is going to default contract again, and expand, and contract just like the stock market goes up and down, but the dialectic debated by philosophers won't ever keep the focus on the synthetic concepts of fake genders and liberalism of the moment that the BBC is currently obsessed with. It won't look the same in 30 years, 50 years, 100 years, but Doctor Who was expected to last that long. Now it likely won't due to this inexcusable trainwreck. The series is dead, I won't touch it anymore. Storylines started turning weak even prior to Jodie, got stupid. Was only interested in being liberal and not good science fiction. I hope these liberal racists shoving their racism down people's throats over at the BBC take a cue from Torchwood in regards to how to introduce and write a good character that can represent your ideals but still hit a real sci-fi agenda. Best not to hijack and butcher a already long established character like the Doctor, but to start new. They didn't, they ruined the show, it is dead. Nobody wants to be lectured by a sci-fi show and given a checklist of minorities you have to show.... dear God, just write good characters and use common sense storylines that intrigue. The little stuff like face and sexual orientation is minor character details, but once established do not change easily. Write new characters instead.
