WW84 ticks all the boxes by following a generic formula for commercial success, but ends up severely undermining whatever made the 2017 film great and the potential of Diana Prince as a holistic character. By resorting to certain tropes, cinematic cliches, generic script and wallflower-like supporting characters, WW84 has an energy that ultimately fails to pan out. The 2017 film emerged as a powerful reckoning with characters that were three dimensional and led by a forceful female superhero. In comparison WW84 is quite a disappointment especially considering the fact that the entire launch of the DCEU campaign relies on crafting a compelling central figures like Wonder Woman.
