This movie has been one of the biggest waste of my time. Highly predictable and banal, and also extremely slow-paced. Did not enjoy Ben Affleck's acting. Just similar to any 2000s movie where men don't learn to deal with movies and become toxic to the people around them because of a tragic incident in their lives, try to redeem by coaching/guiding/mentoring young kids, losing his way after a certain peak, and then remembering to do the right thing in the end. After a while, I had to watch the movie at an increased speed because of how slow it was.
Everyone goes through hardships, but what I hated about the movie is how 'romanticized' his struggles where like the 'oh poor guy troupe'. Want to see a show/movie of tragic occurrences befalling a good person and causing his downfall? Watch Bojack Horseman. Bojack's selfish actions catch up with him, he is made accountable, goes to jail, and is basically ostracized by everyone, and this was after he goes to rehab and makes and effort to be sober. The filmmakers could've done a lot more with this story and the ending or any part of the portrayal of the main character's struggles did not do justice to what could've been a great movie.
