I'm an LDS women who was raised LDS and I've previously experienced inactivity from my church that lasted around 12 years.
I'm single, and had two relationships that each produced my Son and then my daughter who happen to be of mixed race. I'm of European descent and caucasian. My children are of African American descent. I am now an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the long name).
I prefer to just say that I'm a member of the church of Jesus Christ. Mormon is a nick name which I've never preferred and which the church is moving away from. We (I) believe in Jesus Christ as the actual head of my church and religion.
I would say that I'm open minded and human and striving to do my best in life.
I slip and swear at times, I've lived a certain lifestyle in the past that wasn't in correlation with my religion. I've been there. I'm still human and learning and striving. I write all this because I've seen some episodes of the show. Out of curiosity I watched and I have to set the record straight that many of the things and the way they're said paint an incorrect picture of what it means to be a member of the church. I dislike the way some of the women talk about what "Mormons" do or think and stereotype. I realize these shows are edited and somewhat scripted but these women and others in the cast are so incorrect and rude not to mention insulting. For instance, it's TRUE divorce is okay if there's no other alternative . There are many singles who are members and many are divorced.
Anyway. No matter if anyone reads this or not, so much has been portrayed incorrectly and out of context and it's only the opinions of the people who made the statements. There is much these women do not understand or even try to (I have a feeling) Thank you.
