Lack of character development makes it hard to care about events in the movie. George Clooney coughs a lot but doesn't say much. The girl in the movie says even less, it's a lot of scenes with no dialogue, accompanied by poorly explained plot points. Scenes are often shown and quickly brushed over with no explanation as to why they were even relevant.
