This game has issues. Janky hitboxes, clunky controls, etc etc. That being said, it is my firm belief that it is truly unique as a fighter. Characters are distinct, mechanics are nonstandard (in good and bad ways), and overall the combat feels fluid (if possibly too one-note due to a lack of complex combos). With the way the gameplay is designed, players are supposed to use team strategy and composition to gain an edge, rather than pure individual skill, which could be why individual character combos feel undercooked. It is also an interesting concept that I have never seen implemented this way, and is arguably the most exciting aspect of this game.
It is important to bear in mind that this game just released, so it is likely a fair amount of the issues that we encounter will be addressed at some point.
Overall, I would recommend holding off if you are skeptical, or if there are too many problems or uncertainties to justify a purchase at 60 USD.
