This was an alright movie. However, I think it got a bit overhyped because this was a slow year for movies. It was entertaining and got it's message across strongly, but I think it was a bit too long and a bit too male gazey. The movie being male gazey is kind of the point --- but I still couldn't help but notice the theatre audience was almost entirely men. The main characters felt like incredibly realistic Gen Zer's -- which was where a lot of the humor and depth came from --- and it had a lot of compelling shifts in tone. I find a lot of the criticisms in the comments a bit funny. This movie is not plot driven, it's character driven. I do agree that the pacing has issues. Some of the scenes seriously annoyed me and I felt like they could have just been cut. None of the main characters have traits that are particularly likable on paper, but all of them have a certain charm. No one undergoes that much character development and there's no real moral message. But all the characters reminded me of people I've met and made me think about how people treat each other and why. This film also doesn't show a particularly positive or negative depiction of womanhood or being a sex worker. What it's trying to do is display a realistic depiction of how power dynamics influence relationships. The thing that hit me the hardest in this movie was seeing how quiet Anora is when she's around Vanya vs. how outspoken she is generally. I thought it was a great depiction of some of sexism's more subtle frustrations and the way most women subconsciously feel obligated to change their personalities to be more agreeable around men. This is a movie that I think is worth a watch but probably not a rewatch.

Definitely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Sadly, it was too boring to go into "so bad it's good" territory. It has my vote for the worst animated film ever, because "Foodfight" was at least entertaining,. "The Emoji Movie"'s one redeeming quality is that it's animation wasn't an eyesore.

They finally made a good transformers movie! I liked Charlie and Bumblebee. Would watch another movie with them in it.

Best adaptation of Romeo and Juliet I've ever seen. Absolutely beautiful, probably the best movie of the year. Definitely the best I've seen in a long time. Would say it's even better than the 1961 version. Not gory,, b deserves that PG-13 rating. Don't take kids under 12 to see.

I’ve found that the Disney movies with the most hype often turn out to be the most disappointing. My family spent the 30 dollars on it, which was a total waste. Someone I was watching it with pointed out that it completely missed its target audience, and I agree. It’s a Disney movie, but it’s been rewritten into an action-drama when most people would be coming to see a musical-comedy. I mean, has Disney even looked on the internet? All the memes star Mushu and the Sassy Grandma! Everyone loved them! Dishonor on your cow! Instead of playing off that hype, they decided to make a movie that no kid will sit through. It also completely lacks music. I know Mulan is more famous for its strong female lead than it’s songs, but “Reflection” and “Be a man” are classics. They should have added MORE songs, if anything. The set is awesome, (at least from what I saw), but it looks more suited to a play. I don’t know why they spent that much money on a set for just the beginning of the movie. Still, extremely beautiful and my favorite part of the film. The action scenes were cool, though kinda unnecessary. I’m glad they showed off Mulan fighting more, because she was a warrior. Having a powerful female villain was cool, (though I have a feeling she was going to reform or something), but I wanted someone more ruthless. She was just doing it because she didn’t have anything else going on, and that other guy was super condescending. All in all, it was fine, but I probably won’t finish it.
