I would have maybe given this movie 2 stars for comedy if I didn't have to read the subtitles to understand it, because apparently it was a really funny movie. #spoilers
But then again, can comedy movies based on child abuse, female foeticide, molestation, miscarriage, stillbirths, rape, forced child marriage etc really be funny? No...., so how can a movie based on infertility and the wives having to 'share' their marriage just because one cannot conceive a child and other only brought into family to be a baby machine for 'apna khoon' be funny?
I agree actors were good, and yes some people said watch with empty brain without looking at deeper issue. Okay, but there are women all around the world facing this issue of infertility etc, how can i watch and laugh at something in that situation which women are fighting to make a norm in the eyes of 'society'.
The only scene I loved in the movie was when even the panchayat people said 'why didn't you adopt?', like yes! Even such old traditional 'society ke log' are saying such smart things, what is wrong with your family??
I feel like they could have even brought justice to the movie 3/4 of the way, by making second girl not pregnant. And showing that the issue was in the guy. Atleast then it would give a positive message, and save grace for the first girl who always had to suffer criticism. I mean if that happened, atleast the comedy would have been justified for a second, maybe. And the 'society' would have opened their eyes that 'OHH the guy can also have problems, so bringing 10 brides for one man is not always the solution!'
I don't know, you can't make comedy movies based on sensitive topics and if this were some local/ regionals movie maybe would have been understandable but mainstream with such well known actors, just terrible. Made me as angry as when I watched Kabir singh 🤬
