The Vow was mindnumbingly boring. I kept watching, waiting for it to go somewhere, 9 episodes of a droning, one-note snoozefest that could’ve been done, and well, in 2 one hour episodes. It absolutely plodded. It was like looking at someone’s vacation slides consisting of 6 out of 10 photos of them playing stick-em-up with a saguaro cactus, 3 of 10 photos of lunches, and one photo of the Grand Canyon. Regret watching, but I thought for sure it had to get better. And what a story it actually is! How could it have been done this badly? Think about it. Can you imagine watching a documentary on the Manson murders and come away not caring? It’s that bad. Thank goodness at least Catherine Oxenburg was interesting. It would’ve been so much better if she’d have been featured more, and the other, actually interesting people involved could have been featured more. Every episode seemed the same because it WAS the same. There was nothing dynamic. Same guy talking in a monotone about same stuff. Some parts of sessions could have been interesting, but there wasn't enough to fill 9 entire episodes. Sometimes the only clear difference was Keith’s hair style. It was like being shown 9 episodes of how to hammer a nail, and always shot from the same angle. If you’re interested in this subject, use your fave search engine and read news and magazine articles.
