Was looking forward a great deal to the latest incarnation of the Doctor. Hugely disappointed to date. Not necessarily Jodie’s fault - the writing is shallow, character development is poor (in fact, entirely lacking), there is no sense of any real relationship with her companions, and the overarching theme appears to be PC social justice. She comes off as almost silly and scatterbrained without the sense of strength or knowledge of time and the universe displayed by prior generations of the Doctor. Her one ability, it seems, is an annoying, repetitive use of the ‘sonic screwdriver’. You might think that a social justice-oriented show would introduce a strong, confident, competent female character. Done watching - as I read two million other viewers have done. Quite unfortunate ..
