Three of us (old retired guys) played Borderlands 2 for a couple years, and then switched to Destiny 2 for almost 3 years. We are now about a dozen hours into Borderlands 3. I must say GearBox has hit it out of the park and into the dumpster.
Admittedly, we are still climbing the learning curve. However, things are not smooth (I guess, compare to D2).
We all report, in no order...
1) Difficulty identifying who's the bad guy. I know... how can this be hard, there's just the 3 of us and all of them. You got dementia? But we all felt this.
2) Weapon swapping is glitchy. Is it not switching because I can't use it or what?... oh never mind, there it goes.
3) Shooting is fuzzy. I mean bang, bang, bang. Is that me shooting? Is that somebody shooting at me? Am I out of ammo? In D2, you (somehow) know that THAT was your shot and those were enemy shots and they were coming from somewhere over there.
4) We are constantly running out of ammo. I think this will improve when we SUD or SUB up our weapons.
5) There is so much armamentum falling from every orifice of the game. It's exhausting.
6) We have all commented that, jeese, we've been at this 30 minutes and have fired a shot yet. OK, this might be newbie whining.
7) Where the heck are all the guys. This is estrogen city. All the leaders are ladies. Well there is the one guy -- who runs around in his jockey shorts. If you want to be inclusive, at least get some black/asian/native american ladies -- let me guess, could find any one qualified.
I think the generality is that you don't get good aural/visual feedback when you try to act on the virtual world. 5-7 is just whining.
On the positive side, I really like the single big wheel riding thingy.
