I think the show was well done, production was solid and acting was too; but the message is chock-full of inaccuracies aimed at dividing America by racial tensions — not unifying it. I’m not gonna say Kaep didn’t experience racism, I know he did, and I feel terrible for that. But considering his exaggerations of people, I find it hard to believe he went through so much racism. To accuse organizations dominated by black people to be anti-black is naive and fool-hardy. Kaepernick clearly fails to recognize his own shortcomings and blames it on white people — an act which is ironically racist. Kaepernick couldn’t handle the fact that he was having a very bad season. It’s unfortunate that such a talented and promising athlete sooner believed that the entire world was rigged against him and not that he was simply having a bad season. He could’ve been an icon for unification, but now he’s an icon for division. There are ways to help fight racism, this is not one. This show backfires in twisting words to make everything feel racist in order to feed Kaepernick’s ego and savior complex while attributing to the global racial divide.

I simply love how it was a completely unique and different take on the alien invasion genre. It had enjoyable characters, solid action, and fascinating tidbits. I thought it was really cool to have a faux documentary to start it off. I love alien movies and in every time they’re my favorite part. Not this time. Copley’s portrayal of the main character was very fun. Personally, I don’t like stories that make humanity looks like the bad guys, I think they’re overblown and annoying, but I really enjoyed this.

Not my type of movie, but I very much enjoyed it nonetheless. It was original and unique with the talented directing one can expect from Shyamalan (sorry if I misspelled that. It explores the various possibilities that could arise from the issue within very well. My only issue is the solution seemed to be a tad bit too convenient, but they did build up to it (spoiler in parentheses: they did mention coral and show Trent’s code-breaking activities with Idib). I saw one person call it laughable full of plot holes, but I and anybody else I talked to about it didn’t find any, and the reviewer failed to provide any examples of where there would be any, so I can’t help. The same reviewer explained that the portrayal of mental illness within the movie was offensive and didn’t go deep enough, but the reviewer needs to understand that the movie was now strictly about mental illness. Now I don’t know if the reviewer has a mental illness, but I do and I did not mind at all because if the movie was to express the true depth of mental illness, it would drag on too long and distract from the real plot of the movie. All in all it was a unique and intriguing movie that didn’t let you stop and think, new issues arose that the characters had to deal with. It was bittersweet, and I’m very glad I got to see it.

This was my film where English wasn’t the main language but that wouldn’t be an issue for a film with great casting and tremendous writing. It is incredibly unique, especially the jokes. I hope Lars Brygmann gets more similar roles in English films as he put on one of the most entertaining performances ever.

Good ol’ classic movie with great acting and fantastic action (given the year it was made). Great story, funny acting chemistry and the idea of mixing the Wild West with the new inventions of the turn of the century makes for a unique yet familiar and enjoyable story.

Not your typical creature-feature! Most creature-features both good and bad exaggerate their wild antagonists in an attempt to make things more interesting. Ever since the genre peaked with Jaws, such attempts have since dropped even into hysterical attempts. But that’s what’s extra scary about Crawl. The things these alligators do, how big they are, how they act — it’s very plausible. The gators are portrayed very well. My only note is gators don’t need to eat that much but then again when you only eat a few times a year why not go at it? Anyways the story is pretty good, the cast isn’t special but their acting is supplemental. Directing by Aja is very good. Maybe it’s because I love crocs and gators, but this is a creature-feature you should not miss because it wasn’t movie of the year or some pompous critic’s favourite movie. Crawl was quite enjoyable, quite scary, and given the conditions — one could argue realistic; adding to the terror of the gator!

One of the most beautifully written masterpieces of all time, Life Is Beautiful wonderfully portrays the bond of a young couple in love and the love of a father triumphing over the hate of Hitler. The comedy is old-styled, but one I can certainly appreciate and certainly enjoyed; a type of comedy I wish was more common today than the lazy idea of “haha sex is funny” comedy. Directing isn’t mind blowing but still exceptional, with a couple scenes that were truly amazing. Acting wasn’t special either except from Benigni himself who excels in the tragic albeit comedic role. The only negative review I read argued that the film wasn’t funny (I suppose it’s just a matter of opinion) and was insensitive, which is utterly wrong as not only is it quite sensitive to the subject but Benigni constantly consulted with Jews during production. The review ended with saying that “[you’re] and idiot” if you liked the movie because you fell for the whole emotional appeal. I don’t think the writer of the review understands that that’s the point of movies, and none has done it so well as Life is Beautiful. I don’t bother to write reviews unless I really hate or really love a movie, and as you can guess it was the latter. Frankly everything was... well... beautiful.

I rate a movie mostly based on what the movie is for. Because Over the Hedge is not for some 40-year-old critic, it’s for families and kids. And this movie? Well it goes far enough to be five stars! One of my favourites as a kid. Even on a more analytical note, the story and characters was great, with an enjoyable ride over the hedge!

I always find it funny when 40-year-old critics want to judge a kids movie. They always forget it’s for kids. And you know what? As a kid I loved this movie. It was one of my favourites. I only chimed it down a notch because story wise it is rather cliche.

One of those movies where the professional critics were let their obsession with art cloud the enjoyable aspect of the movie. Great story, good acting (great by Dafoe), good action, very enjoyable, and good directing. It probably won’t be your favourite, but it will be a classic. There’s not much character development though but still pretty enjoyable movie.
