Just finished binge watching both mini-series. Had read the books when they were first published but didn't have time to watch the mini-series when I was working. The books were great historical fiction and the pictures created in my mind of the principal characters did not fit the casting of the mini-series, especially Winds of War.. If you have not read the books this should not be a problem. As I watched I wondered if this epic series would be accepted in our new woke Orwellian world. Arron Jastrow's (John Gielgud) discussion of the importance of national identity would be panned by the Left is but one small example. My only major criticism is the film editing or lack thereof. So many scenes could have been shortened or cut without detracting from the story.
