Really enjoyable and a feel good movie. Performances are wonderful, world is fun and you want to stay in it, story is pretty good and will make you feel good until you think about it a little. Throughout the finally I was crying with happiness for the characters while also saying "this could have never happened in this time". It is a reimagining so it's nice to think "what if", and that is the point of the show I think, but there are some issues. The ease at which every body gets what they want or forgives others is an issue. There is a slight feeling of victim blaming, a feeling (unintentionally) that "had these people in real life just fought a little harder things could have worked out better. I dont think that was intentional and it doesnt feel like that 100% but it is there when you turn off the show and think about it. And another big issue I have is the redemption of a certain character which seems to smack the face of the #metoo movement because of the lack of development. His arc and development, while there and made sense, wasnt enough to forgive his actions and just felt a little wrongly placed in a show that wasnt too complex. But despite these issues it is a really enjoyable watch and I would be excited to a season 2.
