Its almost a decade when majority of intellectual Indian audience have shifted to OTT platform from big screens. Undoubtedly that is because of the depth of contents and quality of presentations. A content which is already well populated in last 7-8 years, always requires profound research to be presented in public domain. That is where the attempt of Mr. Soumendra Padhi failed to win the heart of the intellectual audience.
Of course the acting of so-called 'not so famous' actors would touch your heart. The backgrounds, cinematography and use of 'crude' dialogues might give you goosebumps; but it would get a big 'ZERO' in the parameters of 'research' behind a work.
No, it does not show the backgrounds of 'Jamtara' and none of its complex technicalities which were much expected. Even the attempt of 'cyber-operations' are too indistinct. When you saw an 'IAS' to have her first posting as 'Superintendent of Police'? (Dont they know the difference of IAS and IPS?) Surprisingly, an investigating police officer is arguing with a senior Judge directly in court without a public prosecutor!! A senior judicial officer is hearing a case of bail of few juveniles!! An entire district doesn't have a female police officer who can say couple of English sentences after rehearsal. An IIT pass out sharp gentleman is working as a technical officer in cyber crime department in Jamtara with some undefined roles! Presence of a politician with red car and dozens of self-employed armed body-guards without any political agenda and co-workers. Quite unfamiliar and unprecedented flaws.
Well, if you are travelling by train alone for 5-6 hours, you can definitely give it a try. Otherwise, I would say, it might not be worthy enough to spend sleepless nights after office.
