- Look, in my opinion this was a great movie period. It was much better than the original given that itโs much longer run time enabled it the much needed room to push the deep and emotional individual character story arks while still keeping me on the edge of my seat with the multiple fight scenes throughout the film. And speaking of the fights, I didnโt get bored with them; each one had a specific reason and unique feel with the intensity obviously building to the final. I think itโs also worth mentioning that the ability for them to use more blood, gore, and foul language made this movie much more real, gritty, and relatable. So overall they didnโt pull any punches with this one, it is whatโs itโs meant to be(I think itโs even watchable as a stand-alone film), they put everything they needed into it so instead of feeling like the original; that seemed to be rushing through the motions and doing what they โhadโ to do to get to the end so they could inevitably create more lead up and hype to a future film. Iโm a marvel guy but this movie has restored some of my faith in DC. Iโd give it a 92% out of 100.
One more time I promise; I love that Snyder didnโt make Supermanโs death feel meaningless. In the beginning of the film he showed the ripple effects of his death and somewhere midway through it was said that Steppenwolf would not have even been sent to earth if it wasnโt for CalLsโ death, not to mention the heartbreak that Lois and CalLsโ mother went through was shown some screen time. This honestly wasnโt even just an action film I think that any movie watcher could find at least one thing they loved about it
