There's some good stuff here if you are willing to overlook the butchering of lore and characters (SPOILERS AHEAD). For example Chief Irons is coward (pretty much his only bad trait) in this, funny but absolutely nothing like his character. I will go through "some" lore and Character differences: Chris Redfield: He doesn't really act like Chris, he doesn't believe Claire at all which later prompts William Birkin to call him dumb and her smart. He also is very childish having a back and forth shhhh with Claire, he not Wesker in this leads the unnamed Team (Team Bravo seems only to consist of Marini and Dewey here with Richard with the "Alpha" team we know minus Barry). He has some good moments but runs and tries to take on William Birkin but instead gets saved by Claire in mere seconds (Claire saving people tends to be a running theme). Here instead of being born and raised in New York, and taking care of Claire like in the books he with Claire was born and raised in Racoon City and after their parents died lived at the Orphanage there headed by William Birkin. Later Claire escapes and Chris basically gets raised and put to school and Airforce by none other than Birkin and Umbrella! He also has a thing for Jill in this which in the games is never shown beyond being a partner. Claire Redfield: Here she meets Lisa at the Orphanage briefly and then escapes it leaving Chris behind for 5 yrs, this means that Claire has not in this learned her skills from Chris but just happens to have learned on her own to the point she knows more than new trained transfer Leon about weapons. She seems to act older than Chris and much smarter in this. Despite barely knowing or seeing Lisa somehow they formed a bond by Claire just seeing her and asking her name. She's also to nonchalant in this. When the Re2 trucker hits what they think is a person she just gets out says lets wrap up the body and have my police officer brother help. After the body disappears there's just a brief nonchalant comments about it. Seems contrary to her Re2 motherly persona. Instead of looking for Chris due to losing contact with him after the Spencer Mansion incident and thus looking for him, she just disappeared after escaping the Orphanage and decides to visit him to show him info. For some reason Ben Bertolucci decides to give to her. Leon S. Kennedy: Worst character in this, he's basically a bumbling bafoon, joke of a character. His backstory is completely rewritten almost entirely. He's not actually a brand new rookie recruit, he's actually a new "transfer" who accidentally shot his partner in the butt somehow in his previous precint. His dad is also a hot shot cop. This seems to be why he is a cop instead of the incidents of the murders in the Arklay Mountain's giving him motivation due to a strong sense of Justice. Unlike this movie Leon was seen as an intelligent and gifted rookie. His training officers being known other than Rita and Kevin Ryman from RE Outbreak. Rita who assisted Marvin to help save the people of the RPD and Kevin being a main character and exceptional Marksman who took a pivotal role in the events on the frontlines. Leon in this movie gets saved multiple times and doesn't really do anything until the very end via one rocket Launcher. Claire has to save and carry him twice. Claire also has to help him learn how to use the shotgun, and he gets tricked and basically blackmailed by a jailed Ben.

So glad I didn't drop this series completely. I dropped Black Clover once over the new Japanese voice actor at the time (same voice actor as Shinra from Fire Force). Picked it back up after thinking I didn't give it a fair chance then almost dropped it again from boredom. It takes a bit to pick up but once it does it's so amazing that not only did I binge watch it but I bought every single manga volume available at that time in a single day and have been collecting them hereafter, now it being my favorite currently running anime. Here's some common complaints: •Generic: I disagree it's generic, at first this may seem to be the case however the story involving demons, elves, magic, curses and characters with the storylines is anything but generic. The main character is powerful of himself and doesn't do these speeches or hero of Justice mantra's and is very relatable in how he acts from slapping someone to snap out of something to not being naive towards enemies, to the rival being an actually great guy in a non-toxic yet strong rivalry, to the female's (yes plural) are actually strong and useful this anime has what other anime lack. •Tropes: Has tropes in the beginning but these mostly fade away as the series goes on. The fact is all Shonen genre anime have similar features what sets Black Clover apart is most of the story. It has many unique features from word magic and natural and unnatural mana, to devil powers to anti-magic and arcane stage magic, mana zone, mana method, ultimate magic to how they are used. This anime is not to be quickly judged negatively. •Animation: Besides the fact that Black Clover has had bad luck in the past (lost 2 outsourced Studios once and their production desk in charge of scheduling) this criticism is often overblown. Usually it's judged against Seasonal anime but Black Clover is weekly so isn't a fair criticism. The animation is amazing at the times needed most and with Studio changes such as new animation Studios to outsource too, new crew and a change of rotation and so on the animation has only gotten much better. The characters, stories and amazing battles will captivate you. Give it a try and keep going. You simply won't regret it. It's the anime to look out for.

This is as good as the original and truly needs to be watched. The kids were perfect choices as well as the relationships and new cast and the returning cast is perfect. I honestly doubted it but it's honestly so good I was suprised I didn't give it a try. You can tell they really tried and by the 2nd Season they hit homeruns and comes into its own. My only complaint is that they should have kept Lola over Rocki. Rocki doesn't to me fit quite right.
