I have to agree with Mr. Lunacek. The movie had problems with pacing and continuity. It also had a transcendent Gary Busey in the title role. I’m writing this in the Age of Coronavirus, and I almost cried when Busey sang “True Love Ways.” It reminded me about true love—putting your family to bed after dinner, home-schooling your granddaughter in the morning, teaching her how to ride her bicycle at the nearest empty parking lot, all the time with protective masks for everyone. Tough times equal true love. I know, remarkably, that some people will be angry about this post, and I’ll not understand why. It’s a great love song about what love means. Trash me if you want.
