Here was an opportunity for a movie director to create a masterpiece on its way to the best picture trophy. Unfortunately it evolved into a lost opportunity. The impeccable recreation of the time period coupled with the first rate acting were all forgotten with the disappointing finale. With the backdrop of one of the most heinous crimes in American history and the tense build up to the crime spree, the ending left this viewer empty. Without giving away the story I will admit involving the neighbor of Sharon Tate was pure genius . However the complete disconnect between the ending here and the real in real life pushed the film off the proverbial cliff. The ending failed to live up to the suspenseful build up. The film is a definite must see simply given the phenomenal acting and meticulous recreation of a forgotten time in Hollywood.
