A spin-off is always a cause for worry, as it feels a creator is trying to recapture the magic of the original. Thank god this is nothing like that. Avoiding all the traps one can fall into when making a prequel/spin-off, Gilligan and co. have created a show that is impressive enough not to have to stand on the shoulders of Breaking Bad. This is probably the best written show I have ever seen, each line of dialogue feels carefully crafted, character interactions and development feels natural and even the silent moments are great to sit through. As a hopeful writer, I hope to be able to work on a show like this.
