Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a slow, plodding meander through Tarantino’s b-roll memories. It’s all of the less interesting snapshot experiences from his cinema-infused youth, quilted together into a soporific product. Any viewer excited about a strong cast is soon tranquilized by the unmemorable dialogue. The soundtrack is mediocre and the editor(s) deserve to watch this film on loop for a year as punishment. Tarantino’s most lackluster effort to date.
