It gets right to the point and cuts out a lot of the filler/repetitive episodes from the original series but in doing so it also cuts out huge character development and most of the humor. I was excited to see the Usagi/Rei banter when Mars was introduced but was disappointed to find that Mars was a normal, nice, ~beautiful~, 2d character without any of the anger or passion that made her stand out. Usagi was so funny and expressive in the original, now she just seems reserved. If only they could've found a balance between cutting out redundancy while keeping the characters we love.
