it’s not every day that you see a movie about how disgustingly judgemental people in society can be towards those with disabilities and disfigurements, while also being disgustingly judgemental towards those with disabilities and disfigurements. i can appreciate the message to an extent. it’s saying not to judge others based on their looks, but that’s exactly what this movie does with Samantha. she was added in purely for the laughs. for example, when she blows out the candles on her ‘cake’ and farts as a result of her disfigurement, it’s obviously for laughs. i hate how serious this movie tries to be with scenes and characters like that. the description paints the movie as thought provoking, deep, and meaningful, but in reality it is hypocritical and shocking.
