I watch the movie every Easter and am always moved by the presentation and the presenters. At the beginning, you see the players getting out of their vehicles in the desert hills and unloading equipment They are full of life and excitement. The movie ends with them going back to the vehicles and they are emotionally spent. You can tell they put all they had into that production and felt all the emotion and were moved by what they presented
Two years ago I also tried to watch the stage play (Broadway, I think) of Jesus Christ Superstar, but it never really grabbed me. So I watched parts of it, on and off. And then at the end, the players came back out on the stage and were laughing and dancing and carrying on as if they had been to a great party.
The movie deserves ten out of five stars while the stage play will never haunt my screen again.
