I loved this show as a child and still do - it blends action, comedy, and drama perfectly. The main characters are adorably designed and written, which perfectly contrasts the ridiculous level of violence they inflict upon the villain of the week. This is the perfect morning / evening show for kids aged between eight and fourteen, but honestly, anyone of any age can thoroughly enjoy this series.
The reboot, on the other hand, is terrible. It treats its audience as if they're incapable of handling anything more 'violent' than a rap battle (which is... incredibly cringe-worthy when they happen) and has become so needlessly censored that Ms. Keen was given a double mastectomy to remove her breasts, and Sara Bellum was written out of the show entirely despite being the reason why the Mayor could even run the city efficiently. The show also focuses on their home life, effectively removing the one thing that made the Powerpuff Girls so interesting; they're little girls with superpowers who are incredibly violent, which was the driving force behind the show to begin with.
