Had to read this for an AP Lit class. I got the audiobook, expecting my comprehension to be easier as it usually is with audiobooks. This was awful. It didn't work. I tried to take notes to stay engaged, but I just couldn't. The story was bland. There was like 2 points where it picked up.... for a single page. If you want to read it, go for it. If old-timey diction and long descriptions are your thing, go for it. But it definitely wasn't for me. I also nearly bombed my lit analysis essay because of my inability to pay attention, comprehend, and dig deeper into the book and its meanings.
